Well well well, with this weekend coming to an end I can finally say that I finally have experience with attending festivals. I have gone to two separate festivals in the past two weeks and honestly, I have had my fill. I am ready to put my experience from both the VFF and Cucalorus into making Visions all the more successful. From what I have seen, it is interesting to see the differences between the two festivals. Though they both personally feel to be on the same level, they are run completely different. Cucalorus really did feel as though it was a Wilmington run festival and even the crowds felt a bit different. From what I saw, most of the screenings were a mixed bag of populations with an age range of anywhere in the early twenties to close to elderly. It was much harder to put a finger on the ideal demographic for the festival but I did see a running theme for the festival, though it was much more general and harder to see from the first place.
Aside from the festival, I have been still in recovery, post bake sale and have been slowly putting in research for bringing forth the idea of doing Square (credit cards) for our events in the spring. I want to bring it up to Shannon in order to actually present it and see if we can make it happen. I want to put a bit more research into it just so I make sure that I have a complete idea of the pros and cons before even bringing it to the class. It is all a constant preparation for Visions.
